School of Liberal Arts
Human beings and the world we inhabit are wonderfully multi-faceted. The Catholic liberal arts tradition holds that appreciating and engaging with this complexity–which ultimately has one divine source—requires work in a range of disciplines. You’ll discover different kinds of insight into the human condition when you read literature, analyze a sociological study, and engage with a philosophical text. This diverse inquiry will help you expand your perspective in new and exciting ways.

Campus Visit
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to visit us in person! Please complete our visit request form to begin scheduling your visit. Our campus visits normally include a meeting with an admissions counselor, academic success counselor, a tour of campus, and if you are being recruited for a sports team, an in-person conversation with your coach and an Athletic Director. Additional appointments with departments and programs may be requested. To ensure your visit with us is a wonderful experience, it is ideal that you make your request to visit campus at least 3-5 business days prior to the date of your planned visit. If you are not able to make it to Great Falls, we also offer a virtual experience!
Campus Orientation
College is a whole new world, but it only takes a few days to make UP’s campus feel like home. The transition to your college experience at the University of Providence starts with New Student Orientation (NSO). NSO is your chance to settle in, explore your new home, and meet other Argos. In addition, NSO is designed to prepare you for success by providing you with information that is crucial for a successful start at UP. NSO includes activities focused on academics and social interaction. First year students starting directly after high school, are required to attend New Student Orientation. This includes commuting students as well as those choosing to live on campus. Transfer students are not required to attend NSO but are highly encouraged to participate.
All undergraduate students, transferring or returning to the University of Providence in Fall 2025 are welcome to attend NSO!
