Nestled in the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Northwest Montana, just 30 miles from Glacier National Park, is where you will find Flathead Valley Community College. FVCC provides high-quality academic programs taught by some of the nation's brightest faculty. Our students go on to lead successful lives whether they transfer on to four-year colleges and universities throughout Montana and the nation or take advantage of over 50 career and technical programs that prepare them to enter into today's workforce. Featured Online Programs
Surveying, AAS is delivered fully online with practical labs facilitated by licensed surveyors, providing comprehensive preparation for entry-level positions in the field of land surveying.
Medical Laboratory Technology, AAS is available as a distance program with students completing clinicals at facilities in their area.
Medical Assisting, CAS is accessible fully online, however students are required to meet for a total of 5 hours a week for face-to-face clinical skills teaching.
Medical Coding is now a CTS degree and has also been moved fully online.

Student Life & Community

  • FVCC is a friendly school where students, faculty, and staff know one another. Student support resources, including professional tutoring labs, counseling, career and academic advice, and peer-led study groups are available free of charge to every FVCC student.
  • From Glacier National Park to Flathead Lake, FVCC students have access to an unparalleled lifestyle filled with world‐class outdoor recreational opportunities, organized intramural sports, and experiential learning opportunities. FVCC also offers dynamic student clubs, live theatre and musical ensembles, and service and leadership opportunities.
  • On‐campus housing provides 124 students with fully-furnished single or double apartment-style units. FVCC’s campus includes modern buildings, a student health clinic, an organic farm, plenty of green space, and a newly expanded library with a virtual reality room and maker’s space.

Campus Visit

Plan to attend one of our 2024-2025 campus preview days, Experience FVCC. Experience FVCC allows students to learn more about FVCC's academic programs, student resources, campus life, and experience life in the beautiful Flathead Valley. Attendees are entered to win a $500 scholarship. Experience FVCC is from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on October 11th, March 7th, and April 4th. Lunch is provided. Campus Orientation

New student orientation is held the Friday afternoon before classes start and will provide new students with the opportunity to find where their classes are, learn about campus supports and resources, meet other new students, and enjoy free food and giveaways.

  • FVCC offers many robust Career and Technical degrees which directly meet the demands of Montana’s workforce. All CTE programs have an advisory board composed of industry experts to ensure students are learning in‐demand skills and the latest industry trends.
  • FVCC students may participate in undergraduate research projects in a variety of disciplines during their first two years of college, an opportunity they may not have until their junior or senior year at four‐year institutions.
  • FVCC’s faculty are dedicated to student success, and they have studied, taught, conducted research, and lived across the globe. Our award-winning professors could teach any college or university, but they have chosen FVCC because they enjoy working with students in an individualized classroom setting.
  • Graduate with little to no debt. FVCC students were awarded over a $1.7 million in scholarships during the 2023-24 academic year. FVCC’s Foundation provides generous academic and need‐based scholarships.

Important Things To Know

  • FVCC's Running Start program offers 6 free credits to all Montana high school juniors and seniors and discounted tuition for additional credits.
  • In-district tuition waivers are available to high school seniors in Flathead and Lincoln counties who graduated in the top 10 percent of their class.
  • Students who earn 30 credits at FVCC and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible for in-district tuition scholarships for the following two semesters.
  • The top high school graduate, as determined by the high school, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA from Arlee, Bigfork, Browning, Charlo, Hot Springs, Noxon, Plains, Polson, Ronan, St. Ignatius, Swan Lake, or Thompson Falls receive a FVCC in-district tuition waver for two semesters.
