Civil Engineering Technology
Civil Engineering Technology is an excellent way for students to receive concentrated engineering training in just two years and be ready to enter the workforce as an engineering technician, land survey technician, field engineer, construction inspector, materials lab technician, or civil drafter. The Civil Engineering Technology program provides students with the skills and education to assist professional engineers in nearly every type of infrastructure project imaginable with hands-on training from industry-experienced instructors.
Construction Technology—Carpentry
With the Construction Technology—Carpentry Program students are prepared for construction industry careers by participating in every aspect of the construction of a new 3-bedroom, 2-bath 1,400 square feet home. Students learn floor, wall, and roof framing, practice installation of windows, doors, roofing, and siding, gain experience estimating and scheduling a project, and other critical skills to be successful in the construction industry.
Pre-Apprentice Line Program
Our one-semester Pre-Apprentice Line certificate program prepares students for groundman and apprentice positions within the in-demand line trade. Students learn how to assist with the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power line systems and earn their CDL Class A license as part of the program.
Radiologic Technology
In addition to the program offered on-site at Highlands College and partnerships with clinical sites in Southwest Montana, our Radiologic Technology program offers a Miles City satellite program in partnership with Miles Community College. Students can complete prerequisites through MCC and online through Montana Tech and complete their clinical hours in the region. Additionally, there are opportunities for students from the Great Falls area to complete their clinical hours at Great Falls Clinic Hospital.
