Student Life & Community
- Missoula College is two-year community college at the University of Montana, and students at Missoula College enjoy all the benefits of a University of Montana experience. First year students live on campus at the University of Montana residence halls, participate in any of the 200+ clubs ,rush for any of the 11 fraternities or sororities, join the UM Recreation Center, and attend all Griz Games. Students have access to the Office of Experiential Learning and Career Success and UM’s Financial Education Program, which has been ranked in the top 50 Best College Financial Literacy Programs for 2020 by LendEDU. There is even tutoring available at no additional cost! These resources help ensure our students are set up for success before, during, and after their time at Missoula College.
- There are only so many hours in the day, and with countless groups to join, sports to play and performances to take in, you’ll have no problem filling them. And that’s just on campus. Missoula makes a lot of “best town” lists and for good reason. Take it all in as a Grizzly.

Campus Orientation
The University of Montana's transition programs provide all the information new incoming students need to successfully begin their journey on campus. The orientation and transition experience extends beyond course registration; we deliver relevant and informative programming to prepare students for success, and design a variety of opportunities for students to connect with their new peers, current UM students, and broader campus and Missoula community.
New Student Orientation and the Big Sky Experience are programs for students who have already applied, been admitted and intend to enroll at either UM's Mountain Campus or Missoula College. All incoming students are expected to complete our online New Student Orientation program. New traditional-aged students are also expected to attend the in-person Big Sky Experience program. https://www.umt.edu/orientation/
