Highlights
- Currently, there are no other Bachelor of Arts Degree Programs in any of the tribal colleges in the U.S. in the area of Tribal Governance and Tribal Administration except SKC.
- SKC Campus currently has 20 major buildings that are beautifully located over 128 acres near the base of the Mission Mountains. Campus includes a 9 Hole golf course, full fitness center/ gym, library, and daycare. SKC has a total of 55 Family Housing units and A 42-bed Dormitory. Along with a new Honors Hall offered to Junior and Seniors including new transfer students. This beautiful campus allows us to offer 41 different degree/certificate options.
- The NEW Direct Admit BSN program accepted the first 4-year cohort Fall Quarter 2020, which will graduate June 2024. SKC’s nursing program was established in 1988.
Important Things To Know
- Housing is available on a first come basis.
- Only tribal college that has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, & Hydrology. As well as the only college to offer a Bachelor of Arts in Tribal Historic Preservation
- Open Enrollment with Tribal Preference to members & descendants of federally recognized tribes.
- Operates on a quarter system.
- The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) first accredited Salish Kootenai College in 1984 as a two‐year institution of higher education. This accreditation was reaffirmed in 1989 and 1993. In 1998, the Commission accredited the College at the bachelor degree level. This accreditation was reaffirmed in 2003 and in 2013.
- There is no requirement to take the ACT or SAT entrance exams for acceptance.
